The Climbing Conditioning Workshops take place at Durham Climbing Centre. Once a month from October 2011 to March 2012 the two-hour sessions will progressively cover the 6-Phase Training Program. The perfect complement to your winter indoor climbing training that will correct imbalances, prevent injury, enhance movement, boost endurance, build muscle mass, create strength and produce a powerful climber. Phase 1 – Create a Foundation and Correct Imbalances 1/6. The first conditioning session in the series of six. The training session follows the 6-month Climbing Conditioning Program. Attend to learn how to correct muscle imbalances, enhance posture, increase flexibility and build a solid foundation to your winter indoor climbing training. Iron out the weak links. Phase 2 – Enhance Movement Patterns and be Injury Proof 2/6. This training session follows the 6-month Climbing Conditioning Program. Building on the foundation, this session introduces Phase 2 Exercise Program in which you enhance all the Functional Movement Patterns. In addition learn techniques to prevent injury and build a strong shoulder girdle. Phase 3 – Boost Strength Endurance 3/6. This training session follows the 6-month Climbing Conditioning Program. Your new Phase 3 Exercise Program is designed to dramatically increase your strength endurance on the rock. In addition you will be consolidating all the previous functional movement, posture, core, stability and mobility work. An essential workshop for anyone looking to subsequently looking to build strength and power for climbing.
Phase 4 – Build Functional Hypertrophy 4/6. This training session follows the 6-month Climbing Conditioning Program. In order to increase strength and power involves the growth of functional muscle mass. Your Phase 4 Exercise Program is carefully designed to do just that. Learn how to change your repetitions, sets, load, tempo and rest periods to effectively build muscle mass.
Phase 5 – Train for Relative Strength Phase 6 – Increase your Power Endurance 6/6. This training session follows the 6-month Climbing Conditioning Program. There is a very good reason why we work on Power at the end of the series. Whilst endurance, flexibility, strength, good posture, a body in balance, staying injury-free, etc will make you a good climber...........being POWERFUL will make you a GREAT climber. The ability to produce force quickly and effectively makes the difference and, now that the lighter nights are here, your climbing performance will be transformed out on the rock.
